Research Interests:Research activities cover a variety of topics, including: surface chemistry and structure of oleophobic monolayers, development of special purpose lubricating oils, identification of minor phases formed during heat treatment of heat resistant alloys, transformation kinetics of the hydrates of calcium sulfate and their relationship to producing potable water from sea water, the distribution and function of silica deposits in plant tissues, and bonding of ceramics to dental prostheses. Ongoing investigation continues in instrumentation and nstrumental methods in the general fields of electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction.
