Bigelow elected Fellow of Microanalysis Society

Faculty Emeritus Wil Bigelow was recently elected Fellow of the Microanalysis Society.

Congratulations to Professor Emeritus Wilbur Bigelow on being elected Fellow of the Microanalysis Society (MAS).

According to the MAS website, “the Microanalysis Fellow is a designation that is intended to recognize eminent scientists, engineers, and technologists in the field of microanalysis of materials and related phenomena who have distinguished themselves through outstanding research and service to the microanalysis community.”

One of 28 inductees, Bigelow was selected for his “outstanding leadership and sustained contributions to the applications of transmission electron microscopy in studies of metal and ceramic materials.”

“This is the first year that MAS has named fellows, so I felt doubly honored,” Bigelow said. “It was a nice highlight for my 95th year!”
