ArborLight wins Emerging Luminary award from DoE

Arborlight, a startup company out of Max Shtein’s research group, was recently named a winner in the Department of Energy’s 2014 Next Generation Luminaries (NGL) competition.  Its entry, “LightWell”,  was named as an Emerging Luminary.  The LIghtWell is is “a WiFi enabled commercial grade 4'x4' LED fixture with the appearance of a traditional skylight, emulating daylight conditions, autonomously adjusting color, intensity and directionality throughout the day to match outdoor illumination”.

 

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, and the International Association of Lighting Designers, NGL was launched in 2008 to promote excellence in the design of energy-efficient LED luminaires for general illumination in commercial lighting applications.
